Within the walls of the Alto de São João Cemetery, stands the Mausoleum of the Combatants of the Great War, a pre-eminently memorial almost out of sight. The historical and artistic values of this impressive monument, overlooked by a bronze-cast statue of a Portuguese Soldier, will be addressed.
